Ethereum Sees Record-Breaking $883M Inflow, Signaling Bullish Sentiment

Ethereum has received a record-breaking inflow of $883 million on February 7, indicating strong investor confidence in the cryptocurrency. Long-term holders are now holding over $19.24 million worth of ETH, which is also a new record. The increasing number of investors HODLing Ethereum suggests a potential big move in the near future. Historically, Ethereum's price has shot up after similar accumulation peaks, providing further evidence that this record-breaking inflow could be a bullish sign.

Investors HODLing Ethereum in Anticipation of a Big Move

An increasing number of investors are choosing to HODL Ethereum, expecting a significant price movement in the near future. This trend is supported by the record-breaking inflow of $883 million into Ethereum's accumulation addresses on February 7. As investors continue to hold their ETH, the market could potentially witness a substantial price increase in the coming months.

Ethereum (ETH) Attracts Significant Inflows as Whales Accumulate

Ethereum (ETH) has led in digital asset inflows, indicating that whales are buying the dip. As ETH remains under $2,700, it has sparked hopes of a bigger recovery with stablecoin inflows. ETH drew in a large share of inflows, with increased activity on a weekly basis as the asset dipped to a lower range. This signaled that there were funds available to “buy the dip.” Traders started accumulating more ETH tokens near the lower price range, with ETH drawing in $793M on a weekly basis compared to $407M for Bitcoin (BTC). The recent activity suggests a possible return to bullish sentiment for ETH.

Hedge Funds Ramp Up Ethereum Shorts Amid $2B ETF Inflows

Hedge funds have increased their short positions on Ethereum by over 500% since November 2024, marking the largest bearish bet against the cryptocurrency. This surge in short exposure comes as Ethereum experiences $2 billion in ETF inflows, setting the stage for potential big swings in the market. The move by hedge funds appears to be driven by concerns over Ethereum's underperformance compared to Bitcoin, which has outperformed Ethereum by nearly twelve times since the start of 2024. Analysts speculate that hedge funds are anticipating a significant move in the Ethereum market, either up or down, due to the extreme short bets and institutional accumulation.
